I normally take them off with a small screwdriver and replace with a jubilee clip. Jubilee clips are very reasonable price through Connect.

Same goes with Indesit circ pumps.

We have had this discussion a few times, the problem with Jubilee clips is their width and bulk is a bit too much for some applications. Do a search on narrow jubilee clips and you will find the name of companies that sell better suited screw clips. I did invest in a “click” clip tool but have never used it. The problem being that all those clips in use today are of different manufactureres and the tools are not cross compatable.

    Check out http://www.zeroclips.com/tridon_page5.htm
Or you can contact Steve Lewis on 0121 622 3211. I found a 31-51 mm (350-024) and also an 18-38mm (350-016) cone in handy. Think he said min order a tenner.

I was shown how to loosen these by using a small blade screwdriver inserted into the crimp and “waggling” it. You only need to open the crimp a fraction to be able to take the hose and clip off complete.
Transfer the still closed clip to the new hose, refit to the tube heater and to close them up again I use a pair of minature end cutters.

DONT be tempted to use plastic zip ties. I followed a Hotperloni Engineer(ha) who had done just that and flooded the customer’s floor.

Hotpoint supply Jubilee clips for this very job, not sure of part number but they are very narrow.
All Hotperloni guys should be aware that cable ties are a no no, they tried this when it first came about and yes it blows off due to pressure.
Its evolved from using a terminal driver to open up the clasp and re using to replacing with jubilee clips, check part finder for number.
Once again, the tool for the clips is available from Halfords and it works on the clips, not sure about access in the machine though.
Guess the same goes for other manufacturers using this heater.
