    Second posting of this fault. Hotpoint DWF40. Original fault heater down to earth. Replaced heater tube then ran a test.
    Machine drain pump runs then fills then dumps water back out with prewash and rinse lights flashing. No sign of circ pump kicking in. Now got this one in workshop rather than having customer looking over shoulder!

    Prewash & Rinse, lights 1 + 3 indicate a circulation pump fault. Check for displaced wiring, capacitor etc.

    Thanks for that. Have checked all wiring and capacitor. It would be unusual for the heater and circ pump to stop working at the same time, but there again it is a Hotpoint.
