ParticipantHi All,
Have been pulling my hair out and trying to fix my DishWasher.. hope you guys can help.
Whilst doing the pre-wash it makes a few muted beeps, then the ‘wash’ and ‘rinse’ lights (the middle 2 of the four lights) keep flashing repeatedly. There is no pattern, they just keep on flashing. The tablet tray never opens also, but I think thats just a symptom of failing to get onto the next part of the program.
Have looked at everything I can get my eyes too, and all seems fine. Water empties fine, filters clear etc…
Dissapointingly, when searching on the Hotpoint site they don’t seem to recognise this model, so can’t get a manual.
HELP!!! 🙂

I believe the error refers to a not filling fault?
Probably the baseplate is flooded and the flood protection device has activated. Power off first then tip it backwards to see if any water comes out from underneath 💡

ParticipantHi Martin…
Where should I expect to see water come out? I’m presuming the hose… or should I be looking elsewhere?
Thanks.

ParticipantHi Martin,
Well, sceptical as I was, I pulled the machine out and tilted back 45degrees for a minute or so. A very small trickle came out the hose. Plugged-in, ran the program, and it’s jumped into the full wash cycle.
So I guess I’m all fixed! Many thanks!!
I was getting worried about how to fix a Hotpoint in Singapore!!

Hi martin,
I spoke too soon….. Still Broken! 🙁
It got about 5mins through the cycle, then fell straight back into the same symptoms.
Whats my next step??

Ditto to my earlier statement. It’s a fill problem associated with the flood protection device on the baseplate. That needs close examination by someone with electrical knowledge, at least to check it out. My guess it that Singapore has no shortage of such people (I saw loads of electrical shops when I was there just last month in fact) 😀

ParticipantHi Martin,
It’s cheaper to put it in the bin, than it is to get it checked out. About 1-in-10000 people in Singapore has a dishwasher; we’ve only ever found one supermarket that imports tablets. I get mine from friends visiting.
Usually they just hire the maid from the Phillipinees and call her the “dish washer”.
I guess this is one for the dustbin!

Ah that’s too bad Todd 🙁
Pity you didn’t call earlier before I left for Singapore and I could have stopped by your house with my toolbox….never mind.
Just buy a set of ‘Marigolds’ for your Phillipino maid instead seems like a good idea 😀

ParticipantThat would be a good idea if the wife let me hire one!!! I’m now the proud owner of the marigolds!
