Hi, My dishwasher is freezing when it tries to empty. The prewash and wash lights anr blinking and it goes no further. Hotpoint want to charge me £150 to come and fix the machine. I can buy a new one for not much more. Ive cleaned the filter etc to no avail, can anyone help ?

Machine not detecting drop in water level in time allowed. Check sink coupling for bloackage, drain hose for kinks/crushing. Possibly faulty water level control.

Hotpoint call-out is currently £89.95 – where have they got £150 from? As the machine is (I assume) out of warranty, your best option may well be to check the repairs@ function on the site or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area. Their rates will certainly be more reasonable!

thanks for the response penguin. Looks like it’ll be a faulty water level control then as Ive checked for kinks etc. I think the £150 was for a repair and protect thing, they’d repair it and cover it for 12 months after. Wish I’d taken out an after sales warranty now !
