Can anyone help me please? I have a Hotpoint DWT10 washing machine which has suddenly stopped working. It has the Salt refil and ECO lights flashing on top and keeps making a noise and the cycle doesn’t progress. I have tried turning off, but on restarting the same problem recurs. I have checked the salt level and it is full. I’d be grateful for any advice you have.
Re: Hotpoint DWT10 Flashing ECO and Salt Refil lights
Amazing I’ve solved the problem myself. Took it apart and found that in the base there is a ‘flood’ cut off switch which stops it from working. The water I found out had leaked onto the base plate and had caused a polystyrene float to hit a lever which stops it from working. The water had leaked into the base via the edge of the salt refil unit.
Re: Hotpoint DWT10 Flashing ECO and Salt Refil lights
Thanks for the reply Penguin,
The lights that were flashing were on two separate rows. The first light is furthest to the left, but is raised above the rest and is number 1. The second light is on the row below and is number 4 or 5 depends whether you include the other on the row above when counting.
Do you know what the name of the error code is and what the actual switch is called?
