    Can anyone help
    I have a Hotpoint DWT10.
The machine has hardly been used.
It seems to run normally apart from the water does not heat up.
There seems to be no voltage at the element when running.
The Thermostat is closed circuit when cold so I guess this must be OK.
I have checked the water level switch connected to the little hose and it seems to be opperating OK. Continuity in One direction when unpressurised and continuity in the other when pressurised.
    Any Ideas would be appreciated.
Must be something daft that I have not tried.
    Thanks in advance good folks.

This has the infamous Bit100 series contol board, which is prone to falling over if smiled at. If you are certain that the heater is sound, the PCB will be your problem.

P/no C00097481 if you intend to go ahead with the repair yourself. Be sure of your diagnosis, as PCB are non-returnable under any circumstance.

spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get one for you promptly.

The machine worked perfect until I transported it between houses.
So was moved around on it’s side in a car.
    Are these boards that sensitive?
What is the best way to test an element just in case.
    Thanks πŸ˜€

    Re: Hotpoint DWT10, Not heating

Transporting it on its side may not have helped.

Can you give us the number of the flashing light from left to right?

If you have to ask how to test an element perhaps you should not be attempting to do so in the first place. πŸ˜‰

Do you have a Meggar or a multimeter?

    Re: Hotpoint DWT10, Not heating

    Yes I have a multimeter.
I can do most things so should not be a problem to test.
The lights are arranged like this

    ——-
It is the rightmost light marked delicate
    7th light along.

    Re: Hotpoint DWT10, Not heating

That is a heater timeout fault. The heater in this machine should be visible inside the tub. If it is then that element is not as prone to failure as the later internal tube type heater.

I would suspect the control module TBH.

    Re: Hotpoint DWT10, Not heating

Is that the C00097481 PCB that penguin45 mentioned.
The element is visible inside the tub.
If so I can get for around Β£25.00 ish which isn’t too bad.
The machine is not very old so is worth replacing
Thanks for the ongoing comments folks.
    Really appreciated!

    Hi,
I’m having the exact problem described….
Has anyone found out if this is the pcb board or if it is the heating element…
Just want to find out if it is worth calling HP to come out and fix it or if I can attempt this myself…
Unit is out of warranty… would hate to pay a huge call out if the fix is an easy one,,,,

    regards

    Re: Hotpoint DWT10, Not heating

You have to check the heating element for continuity/resistance first, if it is OK then the PCB is almost certainly at fault.

With the plug out of course. πŸ˜‰

    Re: Hotpoint DWT10, Not heating

Ok… will take a look in the morning…

I am kinda thinking its the pcb.. as the washes do not seem to make it past the prewash cycle…Saying that I just tried a 40 wash and that did make it through to the end however it did end up with the delicates light flashing – and just for a change when I opened the door I could feel a bit of heat….. So kinda wondering again now what is at fault… the heating element seems to be heating up but then sommet fails at the end…

No, how it works is that you give us the model number. πŸ˜‰

If it is a DWT10 then the part number of the PCB is C00143207. Its inside the door behind the top facia, some very sharp edges so be sure to pull the plug and handle with care.

An e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should give all the price info etc.
