Hi – What is the error code E30 on a Hotpoint wm72 ????
PLUS is there a list of ALL fault codes available somewhere

E30 is no motor action, usually brushes.

If brushes ok, check motor block wires,sometimes there not pushed in properly or damaged pcb.

E30 actually means “no tacho pulses”

If the machine lurches into spin prior to the error code showing. Look for loose tacho magnet, OC tacho coil or bad connection at control module two way connector.

If there is no motor action at all, then it’s brushes, power module or motor fault.

Which is exactly what happens if the brushes have failed, no motor action, ergo no tacho pulses.

As a rough estimate, assuming this has a GDA motor I would guess that 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of E30’s I have seen are brush failures, followed by loose or broken wiring and armature failure. The incidence of loose magnet, tacho or module failure is not common although it does happen.

Just to fool you also… some microprofile machines have a fuse on the power module. And some washer dryers have an inline fuse holder buried in the wiring harness.
