I have a Hotpoint EW74X cooker and I wondered if anyone could help me diagnose the reason for the bottom main oven being completely dead. Top oven grill and hot plates work fine. The timer is set to manual the correct time is displayed but when I turn the thermostat control for the main bottom oven it makes a click as it should do but the red light next to the thermostat doesn’t come on, no heat what so ever, no fan, no oven light, oven appears completely dead. Are there any fuses that would blow and cut power to bottom main oven. The only reason I could think of was if the timer was set to auto as to why no power would go to bottom oven .What possible reasons are there for no power to main bottom oven only.
Any help would be most appreciated

It could be the main thermal fuse located on the side of the oven cavity?

bypass timer on Hotpoint EW74X help

Would anyone on the uk whitegoods forum be so kind as to instruct me on how I could bypass the timer on a Hotpoint EW74X cooker in order to know for sure if it was faulty. Which wires would I remove from the timer and connect together to bypass the timer for the main bottom oven on my Hotpoint EW74X cooker. ❓

thank you and all the best
    Danny

Tell me Danny, why would you wish to bypass the oven timer in spite of being advised that the fault may lie elsewhere?
