HOTPOINT F/REEZER internal lamp flashing

Hi gents going to a hotpoint ffa52k works ok fridge and freezer but if compressor is running open fridge door internal lamp flashes and relay i assume an pcb is clicking on and off, but when compressor is not running open fridge door and lamp inside stays on untill you shut door any help please alro

am guessing the flashing may mean a faulty component

Have sent the manual and teat proceedure

Sounds like the large X2 capacitor on the circuit board may be dying and no longer have enough power to operate both the compressor and the lamp.
