ParticipantI’m having a problem with the door not closing on cycles:
When starting the cycle all fine but then within a few seconds get the “door open” message on the display because the catch has not activated to lock the door.
I have removed the door panel etc to look at the door switch/circuit board as advised elsewhere and can see that the metal connector that attached to the board is charred, the wires that feed the connector to the circuit board run down underneath the dishwasher so am wondering if this is something I can fix myself with help from this forum.

New microswitch required, part number C00118731, you might find it easier to get hold of a complete door latch assembly, part number C00118765, only a couple of pounds dearer.
You will need to replace that badly burnt AMP tag as well.March 22, 2016 at 11:58 am #436449kwatt

The door lock is here:

The microswitch doesn’t seem to pop up anywhere but, given the low cost of the complete lock it’s probably not worth the bother as Jim says.

Thank you very much guys 🙂
So would this complete door lock come with the micro switch and wiring as that seems in need of replacing too. Would you know where that wire leads to? ( it goes down underneath the washer).

Door lock and microswitch, the wiring and connectors you’ll have to rebuild unless you fancy buying a full wiring loom as, that’s the only way most any manufacturer will supply such a thing.
All you can do is trace out the bust one complete or, chop and then replace the broken bit.

OK that’s great kwatt
Where would I get hold of the specific microswitch/connector for this model, seems only the very end is charred where it feeds into the connector so a simple cut and re-strip would suffice?
Thanks you’ve both been a great help

Should just be standard amp tags, any DIY store, car parts store and so on will usually have them.
We get them in packs of ten like this:
