Hello all, hope someone can help me with my problem. I have a Hotpoint FDL 570 and it willl starts a wash cycle but does not finish it. Then the salt, rinse aid and start/pause lights flash. I consulted the instruction manual but this fault wasn’t listed so I contacted hotpoint who told me it points to a thermostat problem. Can someone help me with this fault please and point me in the right direction for spares.

    Any help is much appreciated

    1. The machine does not have a thermostat in it.

    2. The error is a code 4, time out heating. The heater itself is very prone to failure on these machines. Its integral with the main circulation pump housing.

A check of the heater with a megger or multimeter is required, with the mains plug removed of course.

If the heater is OK then it will more than likely by the very dodgy Indesit electronics that have failed. The main PCB on this machine has to be programmed using a one use smart card and a £90+ card reader.
