Hotpoint FDL570

I apologise if this has been covered I think I’ve scoured the site enough and I cant find it.

I have a hotpoint FDL 570 that runs as usual and then stops and the Play/pause and drying/3h lights flash.

According to the manual this means ‘Water loading solenoid valve fault’.

a, Is this correct
b, What would be the next step in fault finding this?

Many moons ago I used to repair CRT televisions so I’m moderately technically minded but do not know what I’m looking for.

Any help would be gratefully received, thank you in advance. 😀

If the error code is correct…

The water valve is not opening but it wouldn’t fill if that were the case usually.

The control module isn’t detecting the water valve.

The control module isn’t receiving the signal from the pressure sensor to tell it that water has reached level.

It’s a very simple logic generally speaking and from that you should be able to work out what the issue is unless there’s something that jumps out on the range or model.

Could be the air break turbine. Several different models of this machine, full model number, serial number and commercial code needed to ID correct parts.

Thanks for the responses,

I haven’t help anyone by incorrectly stating the error code, It should have read the :play/pause & drying/6hr light flash.

Numbers on the back are:

FDL 570 6.R
3663944090003
0928-00721 6539

I actually replaced the air break turbine ( supplied very promptly by yourselves) last week to no avail.

Any additional help would be very much appreciated, I’m about to start the ‘cheapest part first” fault finding method!

Equates to lights 2+4 for error codes.

Heating element, connections, module, relay, pressure
switch.

Most likely culprits heater or main pcb. The heater needs testing for resistance/continuity, if that is OK then it’s odds on the module. 🙁

Hello,

Finally got round to getting in there and having a look, the heater is reading 7 ohms across
the terminals, with it disconnected. It also has a nasty burn mark on the metal casing so perhaps its shorting?

7 ohms on a 1650w heater seems a little low to me? What would you suggest?

Heater resistance should be 29.9?

Ok, part arrived today – thank you – seemed straight forward enough to fit.

I am now getting the 3hr & 6hr lights flashing, accompanied by a whirring noise without the usual sound of water flowing. Any advice?

The dishwasher ejected water through the waste pipe so that seems ok

The water line in is turned back on!

The main circulation pump is as unreliable as the heater and the electronics, sounds like that is goosed. It is an Indesit when all said and done. :rolls:

Lights 1 + 2…Time out draining Pump connections, blockage, module, circulation pump.
