Hotpoint FDL570 Dishwasher wont start up Fault Code E8

Hi, I’m new user on here. I found this site whilst trying to diagnose fault with my Hotpoint FDL570 dishwasher.
I have looked through the forum but couldn’t find my problem anywhere.

I have a Hotpoint FDL570 (5yr old approx) and when it was set by its timer to go off last night the washing cycle did not work / operate. I tried to set if off manually but there was no life in the machine.

The control panel appears to be functioning properly – the problem appears to be that there is no “communication” between it and the dishwasher to get it to start. There are no noises when pressing start – it is just dead

Ive switched it off at the mains and now back on and it gives the following lights (both on solid) “Wash” and “Start / Pause”

Ive looked on here and found this means –

E8 Software recognition error
Module not programmed
Wrong keypad installed

Any solutions / help / advice regarding repair & costs would be greatly appreciated,

Problem identified!!!!

I have just taken front panel off and found the microswitch that is related to the door clip mechanism has burnt out.

Any ideas where i can get one from and how much and how easy to fit?

Part number is C00118765, it looks very similar to one or two in the store here at UKWG’s but best to get the correct part to be on the safe side. Email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you sorted, not difficult to fit, just watch the edges of the inner door, razor sharp.

many thanks for the advice. I have to replace the white connector bloick as that burnt out / broke too – can these be purchased or best to just to replace with female spade connectors?

Yes, ordinary AMP tags will do the job.
