Fitted a new Detergent Dispenser yesterday and when switching the power on, the solenoid switch either makes a loud humming sound or vibrates loudly, any ideas?

Have tou fitted the outer part of the soap, drawer housing? If so maybe you have put the rubber tubing back incorrectly.

If not check the filter at the rear of the solenoid, after taking the hose off you will see it inside the rear of the opening.

The solenoid is inside the dispenser unit and starts to hum and starts to switch on and off rapidly, maybe an alarm?

Sorry, only now realising you were refering to a dishwasher, not a washing machine..
Never come across that problem, hopefully someone on here will help you out.

Why did you change the dispenser in the first place?

It has possibly damaged the main pcb causing it to fire on and off.

The dispenser didn`t release the tablet during the cycle, I checked various forums who suggested a new dispenser was needed as the solenoid had failed. The connections only fit one way and it seemed straight forward until I powered it up? Also when I put the old dispenser back in it worked fine.
