ParticipantHi, I have recently changed the waste hose on my FDW60 as it was leaking internally and activated the float switch. Since changing the hose the machine will start a new program, it will fill but after a minute the rinse aid and the green eco and prewash lights start flashing (LEDs 3 and 5) and the machine empties itself and then stops. I have checked that the internal terminal connections are not loose and there are no further leaks occurring. I have also checked that the filters inside the machine are not blocked. I was wondering if one of the components has been damaged by the original leak. I did tilt the machine 45 degrees to the right after the initial leak occured and water did come out of the machine, could this have soaked one of the components and caused it to fail?
Thanks ECO1

3+ 5 Blocked filters.
Mesh plate, filter or microfilter, pressure
sensor, pressure switch, circulation motor.Should have tipped it to the left ( from front ) you may have allowed water to run up into the pressure switch. 😥

Thanks for your reply. What does this look like? Is there a way to test if this switch is faulty?

If water has got into the switch you may be able to get it out by removing the thin hose from the pressure switch and also blowing into the hose to clear any water from that as well.

Thanks Iadom 🙂 ,
What does the pressure switch look like? Is it the circular brown and white plastic thing ~1.5 ” diameter attached to the bottom of the RHS of the machine with 3 terminals and a small rubber hose going into it?If so how is best to dry it out, remove it and just blow into it? Should I then put it in a dry place to dry out the electrics?
I have removed the hose from this before, there is water in the hose should there be if the machine is not running?

That is the pressure switch, don’t move it or blow into it. Any water that has got inside the switch will not have touched anything electrical, just let it drain out. There should not be any water in the pipe when the machine is empty.

Thanks Iadom,
I drained the hose and the switch, there was a fair amount of liquid in the pressure switch.
I then started a wash program, and am still seeing the same error codes after about 1 minute 🙁 . Do you have any other suggestions?March 20, 2013 at 8:33 pm #392387iadom
