Hotpoint FDW60 s/ware fault

Hi the above m/c does nowt but sit there with leds 1&4 glowing, this says its a software fault, ok how do you fix it , is it the PCB or is there some way to reset the system? Tried switching off & press & holding reset/start button but no joy! S# is31711552 any help much appreciated.

Boards a surprisingly cheap on these, under £16.00 + vat.

Not had to change one myself but have heard of several peeps on here who have, at that price it is worth a shot, after checking carefully for any obvious faults first of course. 😉
