    Hi,

Went to this dishwasher this morning, client says it was temperamental draining about 4 times.

During the tests, nothing obvious and it drains 6 times without issue. So I supplied the degreaser and left it to flush it out to see if this improves. Everything else works just fine.

My thoughts were that the machine is 12 years old, I doubt the pump is the real issue as it works every time as my experiences that when the drain pump goes it really do stop dead or make a right racket but never temperamental. Would I be thinking communication issues due to age? No reports of error codes.

Have to disagree about 6 times being sufficient testing for a pump. I always switch them on & off a minimum of ten times with a few seconds between each attempt to allow water body to settle. Once the pump starts, it will normally finish so there’s no point in doing lots of complete drain cycles.
The fault could equally be due to a flip / flop type blockage though, such as produced by a bit of flimsy plastic packaging.
    Mike.
