    hotpoint fdw80: when pluged in fires up then trips main fuse box
    has any one got any ideas where to start
    have resently fittednew out feed pump

    Let’s be a little logical here. The first action on starting a programme is to run the drain pump, followed by fill, then circulation and ultimately, heat. Unless that you mean that you switch on and it goes bang?

    More precise info, please.

    yes it trips out after about 3 secs had simler problem with a washing machine and replacing the out feed pump solved problem thats why i changed pump on dishwaher but still trips out as soon as you switch on at main plug

    first thing would be to check for leak, have a look underneath for an obvious build up of gunk in one place , by the motor or element is the favourite

    it looks like the out feed pump was leaking which is what i replaced now it has all dried out it seems to work fine
    many many thanks the wife thinks i am the best husband in the world now
