Hotpoint FDW80 – error code AL03?

My Hotpoint FDW80 dishwasher failed at the end of the cyle with the AL03 error code flashing on the display. Does anybody know what this means as it’s not in the manual?

There is a pool of water in the bottom of the dishwasher so it looks like there is a blockage. However, when i remove the filter it is not blocked…

Any help appreciated.

Error is time-out drain, so you’ve got a blockage somewhere.

Easy – check sink coupling (if applicable), check drain hose for kinking and trapping.
Difficult – clear blockage in drain pump. Access is from underneath and is extremely awkward.

Power off, of course.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have checked the sink coupling and this is clear and there are no kinks in the pipe anywhere, so sounds like its the drain pump.

How awkward are we talking for getting to the drain pump…? Do you need any specialist tools or is it just a tight fit?!

Set of Torx bits might come in handy……. Job is just awkward with lots of sharp edges to negotiate.
