    Hi all,

I suddenly seem to have a problem with my dishwasher and I’m stumped as to the cause. Not only that but I’m struggling to find anything on the net which might help, nor is the manual much use.

    What is happening is this…

When I start the thing, everything appears normal. The WASH light comes on etc
Then it just doesn’t seem to do anything until a short time later when it beeps to indicate that it’s finished and the END light is lit. By a short time, I mean between 15 and 60 minutes depending on the programme I’m using. I know cycles should normally run for some 2 to 3 hours. On opening, the machine has obviously run, however it seems to only have used cold water.

I’ve tried different programmes, and aside for the length of the cycle, the result is the same.

I know it’s likely a problem with the heating element or thermostat, but I know it could also be something else.

Can anyone advise me on what is most likely the problem and also, honestly, if a repair is economical or if I’m better just replacing it

    Thanks in advance.

if the heater had failed then you would hear it washing but it would not heat

the way you describe it is it goes silent and does nothing

I honestly am not completely sure on that, being as I have some hearing issues.

Normally I can hear it running a cycle, and obviously water had been running at some point. I couldn’t actually hear anything happening at any point, so if it was washing then it was quieter than normal.

I have no clue if that’s something that happens or if I just couldn’t hear it properly. I’m sorry, but it’s the best answer I can give you

try starting a programme, wait 5 mins and open the door. Not too quick as if its washing you will get a face full of water. but you should see water dripping off everything if its washing
