hi we have just bought a used hotpoint ff200E fridge freezer and the light inside the fridge doesn’t come on when the door is opened i have checked the bulbs and they are ok,where is the switch that operates the light i have looked all around the door and there isn’t one there or no hole where one should be can any one help please or do you know what else it could be ?
The light is controlled by a magnet at the top of the fridge door.
This operates a sensor on the PCB so if the bulb is ok it may be a PCB fault.
If you turn it off on the mains for 10 mins then turn it back on if the light lights up then it will be the magnet missing or the door has Dropped, so it does not operate the sensor, as the sensor cuts the power if the door is left open too long.
