Hi I have coming up a module to replace on the above fridge freezer after some idiot decided to steel the earth cable from a nearby sub station blowing almost all the electrical equiptment and white goods in the area. The module is blown to bits and needs replacing. Had a look on Connect and it’s shown as un programmed. It shows the smart card required and I presume I will need the low end adapter to go with it. I already have the smart card reader (which I have never used yet). Never done this before and I understand you only get one go with the card so I would like to get it right on the first attempt. Could someone please give me some guidance as to how this is done? My thoughts are that you replace the module, connect up the smart card reader, power up and insert the card but not sure.. Help me please.
    Thanks,
    Rob.

Not done a top mounted module one yeat but have done several of the rear mounted types which do not need the low end adaptor.
If you buy a used low end adaptor, bare in mind that it must be marked “2007” as the older version will not work, a lot of us bought the original version which is next to useless these days.
You should have instructions about programming either with your smart card reader or with the new pcb. Not had any problems doing one of these yet but the green light that is supposed to indicate a succesful install has never come on (IIRC) although the appliances have worked ok.

Thanks for that Eastlmark. I need to order the low end adapter and will get a new one. Thanks again for the reply.
