ParticipantHi Dave and thanks.
Which wires on this particular motor would I test the resistance across ?
As I’m sure you’ll know, there are Two Blacks (Going to the motor) and Two Whites (Going into the casing).
Regards, Soulman.

Moderatorshort answer dont know ( dont work many fridges)
try and see what you get across each
the motor if its ok should be constant resistance
if the white wires are a thermostat , if you warm it it should change resistance

ParticipantGood morning. (I’m back)
Update on the non cooling fridge section.
I first found that the damper / flap was not opening.
I ran the machine with the rear cover assembly removed and damper suspended from it’s wires and on the first occasion it stayed closed. (Cold air was being blown into the fridge)
On the second occasion upon start up it opened but stayed open even though the fridge temperature had gone down to -8
I hoped that this possibly pointed to a faulty damper unit.
With fingers crossed I ordered a new unit but unfortunately upon start up with rear cover etc back in situ it remains closed.
So after a little homework it seems that the damper may be controlled by a thermistor that is plugged into the main board and that it may be this that is the root of the problem.
Would any of the good folk on here be kind enough to point me in the direction of this thermistor part ?.

Moderatorcant find your model on the hotpoint service site but a lot of thermistors are buried in the insulation

ParticipantHi Dave.
On the label inside the fridge compartment it states “Model FF7190EX / “Type CM01FF”.
I’ve had a look on the exploded parts diagram on the Hotpoint web site for this model but cannot see any themistor listed / shown.
What I suspect to be the fridge temp sensor that controls the damper is located on the lower left hand side wall of the fridge compartment.
(I tried to upload a picture but I just get “The image exceeds 2MB” message)
There are no screws or anything holding it in place so I’m at a bit of a loss as to how it should be removed, I’ve gently tried to pry / pull it out with a screwdriver / pliers but I don’t want to break anything in the process.Regards, Soulman.

ModeratorAh you missed the 9 out
to upload pic you have to host them on another site and post a link or find a site that will shrink it under 2Mb
