ParticipantHi, This is similar to some other threads & I’ve tried to identify the relevant bits.,
Fridge temp is +12c, freezer -35c, fan runs with the fridge door shut but no cold air seems to get through. Defrosting (for weeks!) definitely doesn’t fix the problem. No obvious ice build-up.
Is this likely to be a fridge thermistor problem? The freezer thermistor is yellow and easy to replace if necessary, not so sure where the white one runs to though.
I’ve tried (mains plug out!!) pulling the 3 thermistor plugs & pushing them back in case of a loose connection.
Many thanks for your help if you’re able to comment.

Hi
Loads of theads on this, My first port of call (and cheapest) is to change the freezer thermistor. thats in front of the evaperator. Plus remove the vent cover from the bottom and remove all the fluff you find!
Cheers

Thanks for quick reply; I will order a freezer thermistor through the site & see if it works. Not quite sure how it will physically help cool air move up through the pipe to the fridge, when there appears to be no obstruction & fan is working, but will look for generic diagram for this type of FF for explanation. De-fluffing has unfortunately not made a difference.
Thanks for helping a stranger lost in the world of refrigeration!

Hi
The fan just doesnt run for long enough to bring the temp down in the fridge thats all. It took alot of head scratching to get my head round these as they can be a nightmare!
Cheers

Fridgetastic, many thanks Nige – fridge has just cooled to 5 degrees; hopefully defrost timer is still working and I’ve got a working fridge again!
Very counter-intuitive that you replace a freezer thermocouple to stop fridge from warming, will visit here again! 😀

🙁 Back sooner than I’d hoped, the fridge warmed up again. I think the fridge was cooling while the freezer was cooling, but now the freezer temperature is low, the fan is switched off. It works for a few minutes if I open and shut the fridge door.
Is is worth trying the evaporator thermistor (with yellow plug)? (May be time to concede defeat & just buy a new one.)
