Hello I’ve got the same old problem with the freezer reading -18 to -20 on a thermometer and the fridge +12 but the display flashing EA. Covers off and Vacuumed the front and rear, clumps of hair/dust, have a cat and likes to sit there!!
Switched off for 5 mins the on display read -18 freezer and +18 fridge then reverted to EA.
Making all the usual noizes and fan at bottom next to compressor working then goes off then on assume ok.
Open door sound stops and starts when door closed.
    Need new thermistors do I ?? 😕

Re: HOTPOINT FF80 fault code EA

    Hi

This error is the baffle/duct motor has not returned a signal back to the main board.

    Possible causes are :

The baffle assembly is faulty and needs replacement or the duct is frozen over due to a defrost problem or that the door has been left open. The door has dropped and needs adjusting.

Try turning the whole appliance off for 24 hrs with both doors open and then restart as normal. If the appliance works for a few days / week and then comes back with the fault then its a engineer visit time.

Thanks for the info Bryan, was at work last night and when I came back at 0600 EA is still displayed, temperatures were -22 & +5 .So switched off for 5 mins and now all seems to be normal. Noticed there was a small amount of water in the tray and temperatures back to normal. Praying that the de-fluff vacuum has made it better .
Will keep a close eye on the display and let you know.
At least I know what to look for if it happens again.
Brilliant site, keep up the good work.
    Cheers Graham.
