    Hi all

The fridge compartment on the above freezer will not chill. Freezer section seems to be ok. I cleaned coil at the base of appliance, still no joy…any ideas?

    Cheers Jimbly

It could be a defrosting problem in the freezer stopping the flow of cold air getting to the fridge compartment or the fan isn’t running.

Either way these are best dealt with by an engineer to be honest.

If you let us know your postcode, we should be able to give you the info for someone in your area.

Hi there, i’m having exactly the same problem with my FF93. My guess is that the fan that distributes the cold air from the freezer up to the fridge area has gone (it’s certainly not working!).Normally after you’ve had the fridge door oipen for a while you hear the fan kick into life when you close the door to push cold air back into the fridge. Maybe it’s a fuse for the fan?
I’ve just noticed that your post was a nearly a month ago – have you got this sorted now? would you mind letting me know what the problem was? would be great if you could email me at steve.craggs@stockton.gov.uk Thanks very much.

I am having the same problem with my FF92 s, the freezer will stay at -22 but the fridge won’t drop below 12, the fan is running and the control flap is open in the top of the fridge, any ideas ?

See my previous reply 2 up 😀

Defrost problem which has caused ice build up restricting the air flow.

Pop up your postcode, there may be an engineer here who can help with a service visit for you.

    Re: Hotpoint FF92 Problems

The easy fix to prove this fault is….as many people have back up freezers these days, move your frozen stuff to save it and thoroughly defrost your appliance. Leave the door open and soak up the water. About 36 hours should do it.

Very often with frost free the drainage hole for the freezer evaporator is not heated during defrost, over time this hole ices over, causing a larger build up of ice. Once the air flow is interupted by the ice the fridge is the usual first casualty with the freezer seeming to be working normally.

There are some poor designs out there and a simple defrost may save a service visit. If this does not work, you at least know you hace a legitimate problem and can seek help from a refrigeration guy/gal.

    Kevin
