ParticipantHi all,
Got an FF92S here thats a bit dippy. Freezer far too cold but fridge not cold at all. Fan appears to run for a couple of secs after door is opened then stops.
Thermistor readings at room temp are: White one: 286 Ohms. Yellow one: 4350 Ohms. Green one: 4170 Ohms. Baffle sensor:4160 Ohms. Error code reading is: E7 I’m copying all this from someones writing so I hope its correct!harry

From Hotpoint – E7 – Evaporator thermistor open circuit
Even though it’s not, it may be out of tollerence. I’m unsure of the correct measurement to be honest but it’s a classis evep thermistor fault that one, part number 2601683 (the yellow one).
Hope this helps.
Dave.

Thanks for the speedy reply Dave. I’ll be ordering one today from the shop. We also have a Mistral of some sort here with no model number anywhere. Inside or out. Very unusual. Anyway, freezer far too cold but fridge fine. Error code I’m told is P1 which seemed to cause much disbelief when same code was posted on here by an earlier poster. Should I just buy all 3 probes (White, yellow, green) and from those we should be able to work out the probs with both machines (?!). The unused ones (if any) will get use at some stage anyway. Do you stock all 3 colours?

I’ve never fitted or been asked for the fridge one but they are available.
E1 – Freezer thermistor open circuit.
Don’t order from the shop though, they’re “public” prices, do you not have an account with any of the major parts distributors ? If you get stuck, drop me an email and I can order some for you.
Dave.

Hi again,
Yes we have loads of accounts. I was just trying to put something back into the system that is proving very helpful to us!
I’ll see what price one of them can do the items for.
Many thanks for the advice. Joining ukwhitegoods is proving to be invaluable!

There was a problem with evaporator thermistors going out of tolerance, it usually showed up as a fault with the fridge too warm.
approx temp / resiatnce values
+20deg c room temp 3K
0deg – 9K
-5deg – 11.5K
-20deg – 26Kdue to drifting in the freezer thermistor usually down to moisture getting into the sleeve of the thermistor. Check also for air ingress at back of cabinet and loose rast plugs on the thermistor connections
Hope this helps.
