KeymasterI have a Hotpoint FF92S that has had several sets of thermistors replaced under warranty, the last time approximately 2 years ago. The same problem has now re-occurred in that the temperature display shows anything up to +45C although opening and closing the door normally sets it back to 22C. I also sometimes get frosting occurring in the freezer.
The door switch seems OK as the light and fan switch on/off OK. I’ve used a calibrated temperature meter and found the fridge and frezer are both at the correct temperature although I haven’t yet managed to measure when the display’s at +45!
On previous engineer visits the easiest but unscientific solution was to replace all 3 thermistors and I’m quite happy to do this if somebody can tell me what the part numbers are and the best place to get them from. Strangely enough, another member of the family has a similar model with the same problem. Is this a common Hotpoint problem?
Many thanks in advance.
Mike

I know that the qeustions below were raised a long tim ago now but. On the off chance that someone is looking for advice on the Mistral range (ie FF92s etc). I have recently had similar problems with my fridge freezer. The fridge was displaying +18 to +23 and the freezer was showing -30 or more.
I followeda lot of advice that I found on the net. Checking connections and removing the plastic cover at the back of the freezer to check if anything had frozen solid. Also dismantled the fridge light to check that the relay on thehatch controlling the flow of cold air to thefridge was working.
By chance, as I was putting the fridge freezer back in to its original position. As I switch the unit on I noticed on the display that fora second or two on start up the display shows “P1”. This made me think that there must be program of some sorts on the PCB or something. So I held the different buttons when turning the mains on. And found the following….
If you hold the save button and switch the power on the display goes weird for about 3 to 4 minutes and the unit resets itself. Its been three days now and the fridge and freezer are functioning properly again. Hotpoint wanted to charge me £90 call out and different even offer any self help.
Hope this helps any of you with the same problems.
