Hotpoint FFA52 fridge freezer

Hello

I have a problem with my hotpoint fridge freezer. Whenever we open the door the interior light flashes 5 times, along with what sounds like a relay click, and then the compressor audibly stops, the light goes out then comes back on, the compressor remains off for approx 15 minutes before restarting. I take no action. Open the door again when the compressor has restarted and the whole thing happens again.

Anyone have any idea what is going on?! Thanks

Hi, I have this problem as well. I understand the problem is with the control PCB (capacitors failing). However, does any know hot to get access to the PCB ?. All answers appreciated , thanks.

as far as I know the pcb is at the top behind the knobs

remove the plastic control panel

I have the same issue with the light, also the fridge seems to over cool and freeze some of the contents, would this be the same problem?

does not sound like the same problem as your unit is freezing just too much

dont know what system this unit uses but before you jump in try a complete defrost.
switch off , door open , 2 days
