Help! There is the most awful smell coming from our fridge. I’ve given the insides a good wash but the smell is still there. Is there a tray of some kind that I can slip out and rinse. I no longer have the manual.
    Its driving me crazy!

Frost free fridge freezers can often cause smells to overwhelm especially uncovered garlic adorned food or uncovered fish can pervade both sections very easily. A close check on stock and spillages is needed and close inspection of the door seal also.

In the worst of cases only a full empty and 24 hour full defrost followed by a thorough clean is the only answer 🙁

    Hi Schoolrun.

Check the lower door seal for residues as well, if you gently pull on the door seal from the inside to out there’s a lip there that can gather spilt milk etc. and if it’s left for long enough, it’ll stink.

If the fridge is not fan driven (I’m unfamiliar with the model I’m afraid) you should see a drain channel at the back, make sure that’s clear. Any foodstuffs or spillage that has gone in there will go to a (normally) black tray that sits on the compressor (big black lump at the bottom back) and will again stink.

Other than that you may need the assistance of an engineer.

    K.
