Hotpoint FFA71 Fridge Freezer. Random Fault!

I have a Hotpoint FFA71 Fridge Freezer. It’s about 7 years old, but has always worked perfectly with no faults.

However, a few days ago I noticed that the ‘freezer high temperature’ warning light had come on. A day or two later I realised that as the freezer was getting warmer the fridge is getting colder!

I now have a fridge that is behaving like a freezer, with all my fruit, vege, milk etc all frozen solid. Whereas my freezer compartment is only just slightly cold and so all my food has defrosted . All very odd!

Any ideas or advice on what could be causing this?!?

Hi. I always advise my customers to turn off the fridge freezer for 24 hours to make sure it has a full defrost then turn on and try again. It could also be system fault.
