Went to one not cooling after cust doing usual 24 HR defrost. Evaporator at rear of fridge was so buckled by gas leak that it was pushing the fridge shelves out of fridge. Woman smoking nearby R600A.
Is it dangerous when this happens? Have not seen this fault before. Have pics will post.

Not dangerous unless she is lighting up next to pipe, but the amount of R600 isn`t high enough to cause an issue.

Reminds me of a call i did for an insurance claim.

Old lady didn`t change battery in gas cooker, she prefered to use fag lighter, only that day as she lit the flame the lighter fell onto burner.

Before she removed head from above burner.

    BuUUUUUUFFFFFF.

Lighter explodes and burns hair, slightly 😆 :rolls:

She was still shaking 3 days after. And coughing badly, so i recommended she visit A&E. :rolls:

Makes you wonder how some people survive the day.

    Thats some serious buckling.

I doubt a gas leak caused that, more likely ice has formed behind and forced the wet wall forward.

Insulation on Hotpoint have never been great and never improved.

I’d agree with Lee. I very much doubt that a gas leak caused that, in fact I can’t see any way that gas could cause that.

Insulation failure on a Hotpoint… no surprises there. 😉

Maybe the client wanted some action on the top of the fridge. 😆

Had a W/M with a buckled lid the shape of the womens butt once, that was a hotpoint, so spin would always produce the desired effect. 😀
