ParticipantHave seen a guest post that there is a mod for a fan that becomes frozen. The foam around the fan is wet and clear ice has formed jamming it and has also grown behind removable panel.. Also the fridge temp readings seem to be haywire compared to say a mistral. Defrost is working o.k. and hotpoint have been out before and just told her to defrost it. Are the sensors replaceable or foamed into cabinet? My first ffa and not impressed with quality.

The sensors aren’t shown on the diagram or on the parts list so you’d have to assume they are foamed in 🙁
I can’t recall a mod though to be honest.

The thermistors are non replaceable if one goes faulty the module will, compensate using the others and also memory of past running and defrost failing that it will revert to a preset factory default to attain temp, there was however a change in module software to allow a longer defrost and foam seal around the fan material was changed to prevent freezing another change was on the back panel to stop water ingress into foam behind foil on back panel causing excessive ice build

This is the problem that has been seen. Rucks of clear ice cubes in back panel. Had to shake them out, and melt to fit through holes and also iceberg growing in waterlogged foam ring fan seal. Do you have part numbers of the mods johnnyj and can you explain how they are improved?

The fan seal is 2602977 it is made of a differant material that doesnt absorb water so readily, the back panel 2603280 but the old one can be modified by removing a couple of inches of the foam foil insulator from the top and reseal using foil tape used in cookers to seal and stop any ingress into the rest of the insulator, the module is part n/o 2603284 this has a longer defrost.
