Hotpoint FFM90 freezer problems

Hi Everyone

I too seem to have been struck by the dreaded hotpoint fridge freezer problems!
At first i had the seemingly popular warm fridge problem, tried the full defrost and gave it a good clean, which has sorted out the fridge.
The fridge seems to be working perfectly, set at +3 and nice and cold
The freezer however is now causing concern. most of the time it seems to be working ok, but sometimes ( getting more frequent ) the alarm goes off
temperature showing at around -8. when you open the door it’s not defrosted but not as cold as normal but it goes back to normal within about half an hour. i have also noticed that sometimes the arrow is flashing to say its above the set temperature but its not actually doing anything, even putting it on fast freeze does not spur it into action, it will then randomly start working and the alarm goes off. it seems to go through a phase of doing it every day for a few days, then not at all for a week 😕

could this be a thermistor fault as seems to be the case for other people?

Thermistor(s) or PCB unless you know what you are doing you need a fridge engineer or put up with it. Remember that from time to time this will defrost the freezer area causing the thermistor to note the temperature being higher than normal and bringing the warning light on. It should not cause the frozern food to warm up
