I have a hotpoint ffm90 and the kids , not sure which one, left the door to the freezer open overnight and everything defrosted 😳 anyway since then the thing doesnt seem to be working.
The fridge is noticeably warmer and the whole appliance is silent whereas you could hear it functioning before. i have power and the led display is working, showing the temperature above 4 degrees in the fridge comp. The appliance is 4 yr old and had a new pcb in first ten months. Do i stick with it and get an engineer or go for a new unit.
any advice welcome……

nothing seems to be occurring…transferred anything salvagable to our 8yr old cheapo freezer in the garage……i have a freezepak in the upper drawer but its still liquid and has been in there over 2 hrs. i think its a toss up between getting a new ‘un or calling someone out. i’ve a feeling its the compressor but i’m not an engineer and i’d be guessing……

well you could try a quick start/test, open the fridge door, press & hold fast freeze, whilst holding in close the door then release the F/F button, does a short test then should kick into life, if not could be compressor or module fault, both expensive or £90 including parts if you use hotpoint

thank you ….i will give it a go tonight.i turned it off last night and am letting it defrost proper in case it was seized with ice or somesuch.
