    Hi All,
thanks in advance for you advice.
I have a Hotpoint FFP187B in the garage, went into today and there was a funny smell, you guess it, no cooling!

I ‘think‘ it may be a thermistat issue.

The lights appear to be working normally (and the small fan in the freezer section inside is also operational), however both the freezer and Fridge sections are at room temperature. The fridge has not been moved in several months.

I tried the old turning off and on at the wall trick, no joy, and have tried playing around with the temperature controller, there are no clicks or anything, however one of the attempts at rotating the thermostat did result in the condenser kicking in (and I could hear gases/ liquid moving. However stupidly I turned the dial back and it stopped again, and I have been unable to repeat it., hence my thought about the thermostat.

Any advice or other things to check?

could also be a control board issue

Cheers for the info, read elsewhere people suggesting leaving it off 24hrs (as it is a frost free model and the can freeze up internally).
Wel it ruled it out as a problem! Device just blowing round room temp air. It did at least sound like it was trying to do something though.

Looking round it seems this model may not have a thermostat, so control board may be right.

Question is if it is worth getting it sorted or not!

well it depends on what you want to spend on it

found what I think is a picture of the board and the symptoms you describe would point me to suspect the board power supply, which is actually one component on the board and very cheap.
there are firms out there (QER) that may be able to do this for you rather than buying a new board

    Hi,
Update on this, just been advised I have been given a refund on my repair from QER, so means no fault found on the board.
