ParticipantHi I have a problem with my 5 year oven. When turned on there is no heat from either oven or grill elements. Just fan is working blowing cool air. The clock timer has been set so it is in auto. I changed the oven element but that was not the problem so I put old element back in. The little green light on front of oven has been pushed in (by kids) so there is just a small hole. I removed front cover but this small light does not light up when oven or grill is turned on. Any ideas what to try next?
I have repaired some appliances before and have a multimeter available. Thanks in advance.March 30, 2016 at 10:26 am #436656kwatt

Check the thermal limiter in it, normally on the top or back of the oven cavity somewhere, looks like this…
http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/c0008159 … thermostat
Which is the one for that model.

Hi I checked the thermal limiter (which seems to be just a fuse) for continuity and it was open circuit so I assumed it was faulty. I ordered a new limiter, I haven’t fitted it yet but strangely it also reads no continuity across the terminals. Does this sound right?

Yes, but what I was trying to say is that the new one is also open circuit. I checked by piercing the bag it came in with my 2 multimeter prongs. Reads O.L on my meter. Very strange

are you sure its the thermal limiter you have got ?
there is a thermostat for the cooling fan
you should have C00089573
not C00081599

Hi I am sure I have the thermal limiter C00081599 which is circular with two mounting lugs and 2 tabs to connect wires to. Is this the part I need? I will try it in oven later. Thanks.
