Hotpoint Freezer Problem

Hi,
Have a combination Hotpoint 8553 fridge/freezer,about 10 yrs old,never had any problems,heavily frosted over the other day,defrosted the freezer the usual way and now freezer is not working,fridge is fine,all display lights working,2 big round black motors?? at the rear both feel like their working although both are very very hot,dont believe that I could have damaged anything inside whilst defrosting,anybody any ideas?,cheers.Tartdog.

If you are sure that both black compressors are running, then I am affraid you have a serious problem. Either the compressor for the freezer has failed or the system has been punctured, it does happen. A 10 year old fridge freezer would probalby not be worth repairing. Double check though that the freezer comp is running.
