Hi all, have a hotpoint fridge model RLA84G with the inner back wall freezing up all half way down the fridge.I replaced the stat with a vt9 and it still freezed the same way. Then thinking the vt9 was not suitable I replaced that with a stat from uk wg part no.2603479 as matched from their web site. The customer now tells me its still freezing the same as before.Am I missing out on something or do I have to adjust the range and or differential of the stat to have it cut out at a higher temperature.I believe I pushed the phial into its correct position.Any ideas / help is much appreciated.

Hi Crockett, i believe this range has had some trouble with the phial tube coming away from the condenser ! If this is the case then there is not much you can do with it.

Thanks Snig would that tube not be on the evaporator ?and do you know if the evaporator is foamed into insulatoin? or can it be got at by any means other than ripping into the insulation so as to reinstate the phial tube and phial to its correct location so as to regulate the fridge at its proper temperatures ? Thanks again for your help, crockett.

Thanks again Snig I’ll try and find a way arround all that and let you know if and how I succeed its either try something or scrap it and scrapping seems to be a bit of a waste, crockett.
