ParticipantHi, This Fridge/Freezer will work fine for a while, then cut off even power to the interior light. I’ve noticed that there’s a defrost timer next to the stat. would it be this that’s causing the problem?
Thankful for any help with this problem.

Has the customer or someone been “playing” with this by any chance and messed with the wiring ?
It sounds like the timer is not only switching the compressor off but everything else as well. How long are the intervals between the shut downs ?

Hi Dave, I’m told it shuts down for quite a while an hour or so maybe more? The customer has just moved into this house and inherited the Fridge/Freezer. Do u have a wiring diagram u could e-mail to me?
Thanks for your help.

There you go 🙂
I was more concerned about the length of time between the stops rather than the lenth of time it went off for. Defrost cycles are approx 8-16 hours. The manual Mike has should tell you 😉

Hi, Still having problems with this Fridge/Freezer. I’ve changed the thermal cut out and it’s now running ok. but the customer says it’s now not getting cold enough. I’d be thankful for any ideas.

Have you checked all the defrost functions etc (the usual problems) Ashby ?
Loads of ice building up I would think 😉
