I have a frost free Hotpoint FZA34 freezer which is not freezing the contents. I have had to throw all the food away. The compressor is working but the fan on the inside behind the back panel is not turning, hence not blowing cold air around the freezer.
Have taken the back panel inside freezer off to check fan for any obstructions but fan turns freely by hand.
When i turn the freezer off then turn it on again this fan spins for about 3-5 seconds then stops.
Do i need a new fan motor or could there be something else cutting the power to the fan.
Any ideas and help would be grateful.
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

The commonly used part on that model is this fuse but I’m not very familiar with the model.

There could be other causes for it and you need to figure out why the fan isn’t running, there’s a decent fault finding guide for frost free refrigeration here which explains the basic principles of it.

It is possible that the fuse is tripping when it should and cutting the fan motor out though.
