Hi folks, my Hotpoint HS3022VL is 3 years old and has just started to have a mid life crisis!

It keeps getting colder and colder – freezing the contents inside.

I have removed the fridge from the cupboard and have fully emptied and cleaned the fridge, including the drainage hole / drip tray, seals etc.

All seals are also sound and making a good contact.

I have turned off for several hours and then turned back on using all temperature settings. For each test the fridge drops to just about -4.5c.

It does not appear to be constantly running.

The air wave at the top appears to be working.

I have removed the thermostat and all connections appear to be sound. There are no signs of burnout or other damage.

I have searched for a replacement thermostat but have read that it will be no use unless programmed by Hotpoint – essentially multiplying the price 3-4 times.

Do I have any other options if it is the thermostat? Or anything else it may be causing the problem.

    Super cool thanks !

Shortly after making the post I called Hotpoint and was happy to discover that they do indeed ship the board pre-programmed!

Of course, the sales person did not know what they were talking about and it soon became evident that they are not pre-programmed.

Wasted time and money because of their initial mistake and they are not the slightest bit interested in atoning for their errors – although more than happy to sell me on card reader for over £100 which will have about 10 seconds use!!

SO I bit the bullet and ordered the smart card and reader that they said I needed to program the thermostatic board.

    They arrived this morning.

Can anybody help me find serial port J7 on my fridge as I can’t see where I plug the reader in!
