From that serial number the part listed above is correct.
Thanks! I didn’t realise “kwatt” had already sent a link to the correct part – thanks for that.
Are there any instructions anywhere for how to access the lock for replacement, or is it obvious somehow, just from looking at the door properly?
I like your tag line, buy the way, and “kwatt’s” too 8)

No problem, generic instructions are here, they vary a bit from machine to machine but not a lot most of the time…

Thanks – only just saw your reply. I’ll try and do it myself first. Could end in tears, of course 😆

Sorry about the delay in sending feedback – I was away over Easter. Managed to install the new door lock yesterday, with a little moral and practical support from a friend, and everything looked perfectly OK, until the door didn’t open again after the second wash. Unplugged the machine to release the door, started another washing cycle, which seemed to progress OK, but now the dreaded F06 error is back 😮
Now what? ❓April 6, 2016 at 8:17 am #436514iadom

F06 (F6): –
Door lock fails to close / open, door lock PTC triac open/ closed, mains frequency signal fault, mains power signal fault.
– Check for water leaks that may affect connectors J004 or J11
(three-phase) causing the relative contacts to short;
– Check Door lock terminal board (any problems due to
aggression caused by manufacturing chemical residues that may
cause short circuits);
– Check J004 / door lock wiring;
– Check door lock;
– Renew PCB.That is the full list, sadly the Indesit electronics in these machines are known to be very flaky and are often taken out by faults elsewhere. 🙁

Based on your feedback re Indesit electronics, I’m not inclined to get another Indesit appliance any time soon!
