    Hi,

First post here and I’ve searched the forum to make sure my question hasn’t already been answered.

As of this morning my Hotpoint HVL 241 began a wash cycle by filling but wouldn’t stop filling. The only way to stop it seems to be turning it off at the power. Turning it back on trips the switch on the mains consumer unit.

Cleaned a single hairpin out of the drain at the bottom right behind the kick plate and checked the drain hose is correctly positioned. Next opened it up and unplugged the pressure switch (its a Metaflex HD505 t85) from the wiring loom and took it off its hose to see if its blocked. Nothing obvious there so reassembled everything.

Can anyone help with suggestions please? And site(s) where I might order spare(s) if necessary. Had a look for the pressure switch on a couple of sites but couldnt find one.

    Cheers

    Bob

Would it not stop filling when you pressed the on/off button? Did you try that before you removed/switched off the mains plug?

Pressure switch is very unlikely to be at fault. If you are certain that the only way to stop it was to remove the power then it can only be the main pcb that is at fault.

You won’t be interested in changing that, expensive and needs programming.

I did have one only last week that overfilled due to the thin black rubber pressure hose chafing on the inside of the cabinet. That one always stopped filling as soon as the machine was switched off with the controls on the front.
