Apologies but I’m an absolute novice when it comes to all things mechanical. Anyways, I’ve got a Hotpoint Iced Diamond fridge freezer which has stopped working a couple of days ago. It simply stopped chilling and started defrosting itself. I did notice it got quite loud during the last day though.
Checked the power etc and everything was fine. Anyone know why it suddenly went kaput?

The compressor may have failed? The relay to it maybe? Not possible to say from the info given (model number and approx age would be nice though)
Fridge Freezers work very hard during periods of high ambient temperatures so clearly in this case you need to call in the experts to at least check it out for you (via this link) Repairs@
