Frost free freezer and conventional fridge.

Customer reports had been clicking about every 15 mins but that fridge and freezer temps ok.

Visited following day. Customer reported that hadn’t clicked all night but then clicked about ten mins before my arrival.

Investigation showed comp running ok and thin layer of ice on back wall of fridge although freezer felt warm and food inside was a bit bendy.

Essentially I removed and refitted the starter and cap, switched it back on and it started fine. Left thermometer with customer who later reported fridge temp at just above zero, freezer at -20 and no clicking.

I was kind of hoping it would start clicking once it had done a defrost, perhaps highlighting a failing starter or cap. I’ll have to say I’m a bit stumped. Not sure I could hear the evap fan running either.

    Any help gratefully received.

Pcb fault. The relay on the pcb clicks on and off randomly.
