Hotpoint/indesit Motor carbons for Bosch motors arcing

Fitted two pairs of these recently to Bosch washing machines instead of the CAR93 brushes. There is a horrible electrical smell and arcing even at slow speeds. I notice the angle of the cut at the commutator end appears slightly different and only makes contact with the top of the brush. Will they bed in in time or kill the armature?

Yep, i would be careful about cutting corners when replacing Bosch brushes, the motors seem to be a little fragile in this regard 🙁
