I wish I hadn’t bothered with this thread now, everyone seems to think I’m either clueless or making up fairy tales I just thought it might save someone from blowing up a module by plugging in the interlock wrong but to hell with the lot of you.
Unfortunately I feel that some members on this site are only concerned with ‘one-upmanship’.
I value your comments as I’m sure many others do.
The reason for this site is to help each other out? Which is what you did.
We learn by other peoples findings and/or errors. It will be sad to think people will refrain from posting solely due to being made to feel the way you have.April 24, 2008 at 10:43 am #250014leavemetogetonwithit

Just ignore the p*ss takers, Phidom. I’m sure your warning will come in useful for me.

I replace interlocks on all machines i sell and they will plug in both ways so just easy to remember red interlocks, wires face front and white face inwards.

Which is more or less what I said in post #6, plus the older wiring plug will only fit the new white interlock if you remove one of the small lugs ( or whatever name you happen to call it ) 🙂

They will still just push on without removing lug, which is why you need to remember if you change interlock.

i think this was a good thread to start, i have put a new white interlock on replacing the old red one, you used to get a leaflet telling you to cut off a lug but they dont do that now.
if i try hard enough i can put the plug in the wrong way round and i have always wondered if it would blow the module as they are so sensitive.April 27, 2008 at 5:52 pm #250021iadom

Whilst not wishing to get into an argument with you of all people helo_75:wink: 😆 your first post did not mention the direction of the wiring as both mine and waters did. 😛 8) 🙂
All the recent genuine interlocks that I have received still have the leaflet in the packet. If I get any leaflet of any kind I always save at least one copy and file it away for future reference.
Also when I said it will not fit the other way round without removing the lug, I did mean it would not fit if ‘normal’ pressure was used. I obviously did not allow for ‘hairy arsed engineer type, brute force’ 😆
I do agree though, the initial observation that this machine appears to have left the factory with an interlock that would not be expected is useful for us all.
