Participanthotpoint lft 114
s/n 709211221Hi i am having a problem and could really do with some advice, the dishwasher has stopped working altogether, There is power to the machine and i can select all the programmes on the display with the appropriate beeps but as soon as i close the door to start the programme nothing happens, not even a beep.
I thought it would be the door switch so tested that and got the correct open/close circuit but only got 45v when the switch was closed.
I checked the incoming suppressor and got 240v on the incoming side,
I ordered the main pcb as i thought i had found the problem but when i replaced the pcb as soon as i plugged in the machine the display lights would give off a fault code, going from left to right lights 1 and 4, i can’t reset this.
If anyone knows what this means or could offer any advice it would be much appreciated.
thanks

Lights 1 + 4 are a software recognition error.
The main PCB on these has to be programmed using a ‘one use only’ smart card and a smart card reader. Will set you back another £80 to £100. 😥 Did you buy the board direct from the Indesit Company?
It would have been cheaper to take advantage of the five year parts warranty. 😉

Thanks for quick reply, will have a go at getting the card reader

The ‘one use’ smart card is a C00268593, list price £12.17 ex vat.
The card reader is a C00252539, list price £85.32 ex vat.
Sad thing is you could spend all of that and find that it was not the cause of the fault in the first place although the Indesit electronics are notoriously suspect. 😥

i have an old ‘in-da-skip’ card reader for the washing machine so have ordered a new card and will see what happens, although the connection point for the card reader does not look good at all – nothing for the card reader to ‘clip’ onto just 5 round solder points on the pcb.

well i got a new card and have configured the new pcb only to find that suprise suprise the machine still has the existing fault on it. I can only think that it can be the display pcb as i have tested all the components and they all have the correct resistance readings.
If anyone can think of anything to try then please let me know as i’m fed up of washing up.December 14, 2009 at 10:31 pm #306164iadom

Have you meggered all the components for insulation as well as resistance?
If the heating element in particular is down to earth even slightly it can cause all sorts of problems with the electronics.

Hi just thought i’d finish off the thread by saying that i found a couple of broken wires in the door that hadn’t broken the insulation wires which would explain why i was getting only 50v on the door switch.
I have tried the machine with the new and old pcb and it works perfectly so if anyone needs an already configured pcb for lft114 send me a pm as its going cheap. -
