ParticipantHi All,
At my wits end with this dishwasher as I’ve replaced the LED card (as it was completely dead) after which I fitted a new door seal as there was steam and water pouring out the top.
The new seal has helped in that there is no longer water dripping to the floor but there is still some steam escaping out the top which is damaging my worktop.
My next thoughts are to replace the door locking mechanism. Is this wise?
I really don’t want to spend much more on it as it’s had very little use and quite honestly it just seems to be poor quality tat.

It is poor quality tat,
Has the door itself been bent against the hinges?

I can’t see any evidence of any bending – How would I tell apart from looking?
We do have a crazy 5 year old who frequently abuses the kitchen doors so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility.January 29, 2013 at 9:42 pm #388951DrDill

And that could be the problem, poorly fitting door that quite possibly caused the led failure

That could be.
I’m not sure how to proceed now. I suppose I could end up replacing door and hinges and latch running my total bill to date up to that of a new dishwasher!January 30, 2013 at 12:25 am #388953madangler1

Is it absolutely level ? Iv seen so many door issues relating to level is madness. Is it sitting on a tiled floor, are the feet on blocks or pieces of tile?
These machine are very flexible and if they are not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} level with all feet set correctly the door will not close correctly and the seal will leak as the cabinet is twisted.
Iv had an ongoing machine where its sitting on various pieces of tile and wood. Although it looks level it just twists the whole cabinet, if I pull it out into the middle of the room on the solid floor its perfect but once in the whole it just won’t sit correctly.

10 points to madangler1 !!
I attached a magnetic spirit level to the inside at the top and sure enough it was off, I straightened it up and it’s so much better!
There is still a very small amount of water condensing under the bench but my wife thinks there always was. In any case it has started to delaminate anyway so I’ll be putting something on it to protect it.
For our uses I hope we can get another year out of it anyway – cheers!!January 30, 2013 at 9:53 pm #388955DrDill

Put some aluminuim tape on the underside of the worktop.

I was thinking that might be appropriate – I’m glad you confirmed it.
